The secret of the redmine project management

I installed redmine to evaluate it for a project management.  Of course, lots of forum posts on the net indicate that it's the winner out there currently (July 28th, 2009).

I installed it, and here's a summary of my discoveries

  • Where is the roadmap?  To get the roadmap, you need to 1) create your project 2) create a version for your project.  Voila, roadmap now there
  • Did you know that projects can have "Sub-projects"?  I didn't.
  • How do you do define task dependencies?  Tasks are issues in redmine.  In order to create a dependency, 1) create the two issues 2) Edit issue 3) add related issue .  The related issue allows you to set the issue precedes the related issue.  This gets reflected int the gannt chart.
