I found this toy plane in my attic.  I thought it would look cooler after I photoshopped it a little, but alas, I am a programmer, not an artist jim!

It's not often I run into something that resonates with me, but I found it in this quote from John Kennedy.  I honestly never had any real affinity for this guy, but for me, this quote really makes me like him.

My interpretation of the following is life will be unfair.  Get used to it, and don't expect the government and others to make it fair for you.

Grandfather stuff

I was out there on the Internets seeing what, if any, information I could find my my Grandfather, Jack Rhodes.  My Grandfather was in the entertainment business.  I found the following, and what's so cool about it is that there is actually a digital video of his logo that you can play.  It's so cool 1970's, that I may have to re-purpose it for something.

Mac OSX mail client, disabling SSL over SMTP

I followed the guide at http://rimuhosting.com/support/settingupemail.jsp?mta=postfix but alas, I could not get SSL to work over SMTP.  It was darn hard to figure out how to disable SSL for SMTP sending using the Mac mail client.  Once I did, everything worked like a charm.

Showing hidden files and directories in OSX

in the Terminal type:

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE

killall Finder 


To change it back back, type:

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE

killall Finder
